Washington 9.-11. Juni 2017

More than 60 alumni of ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and Bucerius Law School (a subsidiary of the ZEIT-Stiftung) enjoyed a weekend full of inspiring talks, exciting sightseeing and capitol pride! The panel discussion on conservatism and nationalism was made worthwhile by the immensely knowledgable speakers Constanze Stelzenmüller, Brookings Inst., Daniella Gibbs Leger, Senior Vice President for Communications and Strategy at the Center for American Progress, Bruce Stokes, Pew Reserach Center and the excellent moderator of the day, Daniel Pontzen, ZDF (German Broadcaster).

The excursion to Mount Vernon, the country estate of Americas first president George Washington, gave insight to the birth of the American democracy and a visit to the fairly new National Museum of African American History and Culture gave the participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich African American heritage. And those of you who attended Capitol Pride Parade and Equality March probably won´t forget the experience so soon. Many thanks to all of you that contributed to the event one way or another!
