Working in cooperation with the Hamburg Ministry of Culture and Media, the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS has been awarding grants to artists since 2019. The foundation thus provides financial assistance to professional artists and artistic groups resident in Hamburg. Supporting artistic development in an individualized manner, the grants aim to further the diverse approaches of contemporary artists and to provide modern artists with the resources demanded by their work and production needs. Seven grants, totaling 10,000 euros each, are awarded annually. Artists and collectives from a wide range of art genres are recognized each year, with recipients thus far including Annika Kahrs, Cordula Ditz, Karo Akpokiere, Mika Sperling, the Cake&Cash Collective, Carlos León Zambrano, Hannah Rath, Karimah Ashadu Schmidt, Nurgül Dursun and Eda Aslan, Tilmann Walther and Lene Markusen.
