By founding the Bucerius Kunst Forum, an attractive venue for fine art exhibitions, literary readings and concerts, the ZEIT-Stiftung has greatly enriched Hamburg's cultural life far beyond the reaches of the city.
The foundation encourages young writers and dramatists by organizing the events "Hamburger Autorentheatertage" and "Nachwuchs.Texte". The series of biographies, "Hamburger Köpfe", records the lives of Hamburg's outstanding personalities. Funding for music goes to "Studio 21", a centre for contemporary music, and the series of concerts and CDs "Hamburg's church music rediscovered". The foundation helps to preserve listed buildings and restore historical organs as well as rare manuscripts. |
